Sobering Infrastructure Report Card

Although the American Society of Civil Engineers does have a vested interest in repairing our infrastructure, its report on the state of our bridges, highways, dams, tunnels and other public structures our lives depend on is sobering.

One of the distinguishable differences between the US and a 3rd world country is the infrastructure of the nation. We may understand that when we have our survival needs and comfort needs taken care of we begin to self actualize. Our country indeed would do well to rebuild our waste water systems, create energy sources that are self sustainable, make sure our drinking water is pure and healthy, our roads are well maintained, our communication systems have back up systems in place, and our bridges, dams and traffic arteries are unclogged. Engineering is the designers to all infrastructures.
