The satellite image on the left shows the minimum concentration of Arctic sea ice in 1979, while the image on the right shows the concentration of sea ice recorded on Sept. 21. New satellite observations show that sea ice in the Arctic is melting faster while air temperatures in the region are rising sharply, scientists say

If you notice, all the receding ice is on the Russian border and not the Canadian or American border. What's up with that?

Why is it that people also don't understand the science/idea that the world continually goes thru phases and transitions from hot to cold, cold to hot, and back again? This melting of the ice is NOTHING NEW.

I find it interesting that the scientific community doesn't make un-altered
photos of Artic and Anartic ice packs available to the public. It is very difficult to actually compare real photos. For example many of the "illustrations" show Greenland with no ice or snow cover in the summer. I don't believe that is actually the case.

In fact most scientist seem to agree that AntArtic ice is stable and therefore AlGores fatefull warnings of 200 foot sea level rises are highly unrealistic.

The fact that the sea ice in the Artic is receding on the Siberian side could in fact be from localized climate conditions in China caused by their atrocious environmental conditions. Particulate polution levels on the Asian continent are off the charts. Dust storms all over Asia in recent years may be contributing to ice melt as well. High particulate levels reduce the freezing temperature of water, while actually making ice colder. Dirty ice however absorbs more infrared light therefore heating it up quicker in the Artic summer.

The stories about the Northwest Passage opening for the first time in recorded
history are absurd. It was recorded in 1942 and in 1905 (without the help of morden icebreakers). Probably happened frequently before the industrial age as well.

Nasa recently revised their records for global tmeperature records to three of the ten warmest years from this decade back to the 1930's.

Who was causing global warming in the 1930's, Roosevelt was a Democrat and Democrats don't cause Global Warming.

Sorry to punch holes in the "melting" theory, but in fact closeup images show the edge of the ice pack shattered into hundreds of thousands of floating chunks. This was caused by unusually high winds, which in turn caused strong wave action which as anyone who lives near the Great Lakes knows will cause floating ice to heave and crack.

But what this person is not getting is that it doesn't matter how it's happening just that it is and we aren't helping as much as we should to stop it. Greenhouse gasses are just the start of the problem. We, as a race, are too focused on inventing little trivial things that we are not focusing on the real problem. The world is heating up.

I see that satellite photos of the Arctic region are getting harder to find as more and more ice has started to buildup again. Reality is endangering the Global Warming theory, and once again Al Gore was caught lying.
